The birth and death of a virtual world.

!Friends world is like a baby to me, here is where I first was inspired and learned 3d object modeling. Activeworlds, then a cutting edge technology that started in 1995, was home to !Friends from February of 1997 until June of 2002. Below are some screenshots of what it had become over the years, it was a progression from standard given objects to custom. Custom objects were created by the team of Steller, Crazy Canuck and MacB. Backdrops were created with Bryce and Jasc Paint Shop Pro, models with Truespace4. Thanks goes to those others who contributed over the years (see list).  I would also like to share its past and hope to preserve a few memories for me and others who met and befriended there. !Friends, thanks for the memories.

A favorite meeting place. A sandcastle on the beach and a mini avatar to play in it. Whale might eat you but will blow you up through the blow hole.

!Friends Pier housed 3 web interactive places, the card shop, the flower shop and the poetry room where you could click to send something to a friend or enjoy reading !Friend's visitors poems. Coffee and bagels are one of Steller's favorites so what better way to share some in VR. Finding little surprises in your VR exploring add to your enjoyment and make it more interesting.
